Labeling & inventory
In order to ensure unrestricted access to our rooms, equipment and inventory for everyone, the Hylec is fully tactile and visually labeled. In addition, QR codes have been attached, under which information on the respective devices and the contents of cabinets and drawers is stored. You can find more detailed information below.
Here you can find our complete equipment list
Labeling of large appliances
Large devices that have a fixed place on tables (3D printers, laser cutters) are labeled in front of the devices at the edge of the table at a distance of approx. 1 cm from the front edge of the table with labeling plates (Braille and relief writing) from the 3D printer. A QR code with an NFC chip is placed underneath to the right, which contains a link to the respective page of the device on the HyLeC website. Instructions and further information can be found there.

Labeling the PC and device workstations
All PC workstations and the workstations for the sewing machine, embroidery machine and 3D scanner are also equipped with labeling panels from the 3D printer and QR code/NFC. These are located on the front left of the tabletop, max. 2 cm from the edge.
Labeling the cabinets
There is a QR code on the top left of each publicly accessible cabinet, which provides information about the contents. The QR codes are marked with Braille. There is also Braille lettering on the left-hand side of each shelf level. Visual labeling can be found in the middle of each shelf level.
Labeling the trolleys
The trolleys are fitted with QR codes and NFC chips in the same way as the lockers. On the trolleys with upstands, the QR code and NFC chip are attached to the front of the trolley on the upstands. The black lettering and Braille lettering on the drawers are positioned in the middle of the recessed grips. The black lettering is covered here with transparent Braille.
Labeling of small materials
All small materials that are suitable for labeling (adhesive surface large enough) must be provided with black and Braille lettering in positions that are as visible/palpable as possible. Some materials are stored in bags or textile cases for reasons of protection. In this case, there is a textile label with a QR code on it.
