Laser cutter for beginners
- Workshop
Have you always wanted to cut or engrave your own designs in wood and wondered how a laser cutter works? How does an idea become a finished engraving or a precise cut?
In this course, you’ll discover the various applications and uses of the ‘Mr. Beam’ laser cutter. You’ll gain an initial insight into preparing your own designs and learn how to use the machine safely and independently. You’ll design your own logo or a short text in Inkscape and transfer it to the laser cutter. You’ll then create your own small engraved and laser-cut wooden giveaway item. The course consists of theory sessions and supervised practical sessions. You’ll need a device with a USB port and the Inkscape software. If you don’t have your own device, the necessary hardware and software will be provided for you to use.
No prior knowledge required!
