The event is aimed at interested teachers and students who would like to get to know the "Decker" software tool better.
Decker is an open source software for creating, presenting and consuming interactive learning materials in a web browser. All content supported by modern web browsers can be integrated into presentations - from simple videos to interactive demo programs that allow students to playfully try out complex algorithms.
In addition, Decker offers a virtual whiteboard, self-learning tasks, an audience response system, anonymous posting of questions/feedback per slide, as well as the recording of presentations and the seamless integration of these explanatory videos into the slides. One focus of Decker is accessibility: Decker slides are (pre-)readable for screen readers, and German and English subtitles are automatically generated for video recordings.
In teaching evaluations, the use of Decker is consistently well received by students:
